Once there was a devoted young couple who spent so much time together their friends called them ‘The Lovebirds’.

Well, as is the way of things, they got married. Their wedding day was one to treasure and the bride was generally agreed to be the most beautiful anyone could remember. She, for one, was so happy she wished the moment would stand still.

On top of the cake stood a miniature bride and groom, which became treasured as an heirloom by their children
and passed down through the generations.

It was indeed a day to remember. Some folks said afterwards, they felt an angel flying over the gathering.

The birth of the couple’s first child was the cause for much rejoicing.
That was when their family life began, with its tough demands and simple pleasures.

And that was just the beginning. Over the years they had many anniversaries and birthdays, exam successes and comings-of-age, bar mitzvahs, confirmations and rites of passage. The young couple became an old couple, and they still loved to get together with their friends and mark each occasion with a celebration of dancing and singing, sharing memories and telling stories, giving and receiving presents.
