Wire Sculptures

Let me introduce you to Pride of Tivockmoy. She was made in honour of the McClure family, owners of a herd of beautiful Freesian/Holstein cross cows, on the occasion of the wedding of their son to our daughter. She wasguest of honour at the wedding picnic and is now put out to graze on the lawn. The piglets? Well, she needed company and they were made for fun.
All the sculptures are galvanised (thank you Roebuck and Clarke of Rotherham) so have a lifespan of 20 years plus. Pride of Tivockmoy has a price tag of £500, the piglets £55 each. |

The life size donkey is part of a commission for All Saints Church, Ecclesall, which I made and installed for Christmas 2008. Made from surpisingly malleable chicken wire, the figures are all flexible enough to withstand the attentions of curious children. They are put away until next Christmas when Mary, Joseph and the angel might be joined by some down-and–outs (aka shepherds) or university dons (wise men). |
